It’s Official: Fur Ban and Slaughterhouse Ban to Be Placed on Denver’s 2024 Ballot.
Lead by vegan organizations these two items will be on the Denver City ballot stop the sale of furs in the City of Denver. Oregon initiative is pushing for the same, No hunting, fishing of the use of domestic animals for human consumption. A Colorado Vegan Foundation gave $50,000 to that cause and I bet are supportive of the Denver initiative. On and on, bit by bit, our hunting and trapping tradition will be eroded as the populations and the make up of these populations are more supportive of these types of initiatives and causes. Oh, the state of Washington has a initiative to ban fur sales, just like California did years ago. Look over your shoulder as a similar ballot initiative may be heading your way.

We are here for a while due to careers and family but once you have lived somewhere as great as Colorado was, pretty hard to give that up forever.

Beedare you are spot on. In the late 60s I lived in Santa Cruz, ca on the coast. The uc moved in and absolutely ruined the area. We finally got out of there and moved to the Sierra foothills. The county was very conservative. Then the Bay Area liberal trash left because the coast was a mess and they hated it. Then they try and turn the place into the same crap hole they left from.

Yeah, other than losing trapping and hound hunting on the infamous 'Question One' back when, and other than the incessant gun laws, they keep passing and tightening here, I don't know nothing. Never mind that we keep fighting. Never mind that we keep running gun safety courses here to encourage new shooters. Never mind that we keep running archery events to keep shooters active and motivated. Never mind that we continue running youth archery events to bring the next generation of shooters along. Never mind that we've been speaking out for decades about the dangers of direct legislation via ballot questions.
Yeah, the battle is uphill. Go run away if you like. But don't make 'revolution' noises as if you're going to stand your ground *some day*. There will be no ground to stand on.

Dana, sorry but I disagree. There is no hope for us in MA. The new gun law is a Guaranteed pass no matter what. We read about other states courts saying laws are unconstitutional but in our state I have never seen it happen. You can vote all you want for nothing but I’m getting the hell out just like all the other 50k residents a year.
Colorado is as blue as any state in the union and is quickly trying to surpass California for wackiness. It is a beautiful state but the politics suck beyond belief. I feel sorry for those of you who have had to watch its bastardization. Regardless, it doesn't matter if it is one county or many causing the lurch left, Colorado has become a poster child of the lunatic left.

The operative word is “controlled”. And….it ain’t gonna get any better. You can “stand and fight” until you are the last man standing and it still won’t do any good. The states on the left coast and the eastern seaboard are gone, in the shitter, down the drain, any other words you want to use. You can put lipstick on that pig, but it’s still a pig. If you stay there you must have good reasons…..to you. I am personally thankful that I was fortunate enough to be born in Texas, but we have liberal shitholes too, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, Dallas, ad nauseum. Luckily, we have enough population that aren’t tuned into the liberal though process to overcome most of the crap they espouse. For now.
