I was a little surprised to see that most of the OIL hunts/species have gone from 2 days 100% with a 4.9/5 rating to not so much 100%, multiple days and more of a 4.5 or less rating.
Glad they have turned more into a Hunt than a shoot.

Tag Quota's will be proposed before the end date as that is why they moved it/appl deadline later last year.

Does anyone know when the tooth age data will be out?
I was wondering about the tooth age data as well. I sent mine in mid September.
There are some pretty bleak hunter-satisfaction numbers on there. Speaking of bleak, I pulled the 2023 odds into some pivot tables and organized it by unit, and point levels where they were distributed. Harsh.
This one shows the number of tags awarded at each point level.
The tooth data for my antelope showed up the other day. You can see it by logging into your account and opening the harvest report tab.
Permits vs Hunter Satisfaction
It's interesting to see total harvest numbers overlayed with success rates. The success rate and hunter satisfaction trends are very similar (obviously).
If you have limited vacation days this year, perhaps the success rate vs. days hunting will help you decide.
The late archery elk tags were absolutely abysmal
Those late bow Bull hunts are definitely more Spot-n-Stalk style hunting.
You can look for your age report via my link, plus your Point totals ect.

Damn. You weren't kidding about the late archery success rates. I'm betting many of those hunters didn't have a chance to scout the year prior since they were new hunts.
Looks even worse views like that. I would be very careful dumping points on some of these new hunt codes till we see how these things pan out.
The antelope hunt I did showed 100% success for both archery and muzzleloader with less than 3 days hunted for each.
I just logged in and checked for my tooth aging report and it wasn’t there yet. From 9-13-23

My tooth data for my bull was on my harvest surgery this morning when I checked. Came back as 10 years old. Another bull that I know died the day before just 200 yards away from where mine died also came back as 10 years old
HoytHntr4- wow 10 years….so awesome! Mine just came back as 7.
I know it comes down to money but I wish more states collected that kind of harvest data. I’ve been told the age of about 8 other bulls off the same unit and it’s pretty cool to get an idea of the age class that’s there
