Our quota has been boosted by the acquisition of an additional hunting area. More buffalo we need to hunt.

One of our bowhunting clients took this photo a few years back. One of my favorites.

This is a life time goal hunt for me.. Ken what’s the go to rifle for these beasts? Not sure if I’d go rifle or bow…

Ken just curious.
When a guy comes to kill a buffalo and says he'd like to use a gun he has never used before what does the outfitter think?

^interested in the answer to this. I'd assume that if the hunter is proficient with firearms and familiar with the action style and aiming device (sights, scope, etc) a bit of range time would make both hunter and PH comfortable

About half the clients use our rifles as opposed to bringing their own. I have no issues with it as I know our rifles are properly sighted and capable. The client’s first day in camp is an admin day (no charge) where we do a hunt briefing, game drive to acclimate him to the area, and range time where he shoots and checks rifles. This allows familiarity with the firearm and lets us gauge shooting skill. We can adjust our plan based on client capabilities.

We have a lot of zebra no problem adding one.

Just checked the "side dish menu" Zebra is definitely affordable. Thanks for the PM Ken everything sounds great! I'm starting on my piggybank now!

This is intriguing. Not for next year or so, but future. Roughly speaking what are the ball park guestimates for the following scenarios:
What % of your buffalo hunters bowhunt?
What are the shot opportunity percentages for bow and gun?
What are the kill percentages with initial weapon of choice for bow and gun?
What percent of bowhunters finish off arrow hit bulls with gun?
What percentage of bowhunters switch to gun during the tip to try to get their buffalo?
From: Ken Moody Safaris
23-Feb-24
1) 25% bowhunt 2) 100% opportunity regardless of weapon. 3) Rifle 75% Bow 50% roughly 4) Virtually all buffalo wounded with bow are finished with a rifle. Safety concerns require the finding and killing of the wounded buff as expeditiously as possible. 5) Less than 10% switch to rifle.

When is this trip. We need a semi live report when it happens
From: fuzzy
24-Feb-24
Boubound it'll be 2026, exact dates not yet determined. It'll be a rifle hunt so not sure a semi live on Bowsite would be allowed. If it is I'd be glad to
