Has anyone tried one of the handheld lawn seed spreaders for small plots?

The Solo seeder/spreader from Amazon is what I'd suggest. Holds more, is rigid(way better than the bag type), works anywhere anytime, easy to load, adjust, and use for any seed or fertilizer. Gear has a lubrication port and is made of metal. Decent strap hookup to make the load more comfortable. It works very well for smaller plots or areas.

I’d second the Solo

Yes, I bought a battery powered one at Tractor Supply ($25) last weekend. Worked great for the clover seed but the hopper was small which is fine for small plots. I use the push spreader for larger plots.

I agree with Joey’s assessment of the Solo seeder. I’ve owned a bunch of different ones over the years, and it’s, hands down, the best one I’ve ever used.

It’s even been “Peer Reviewed” (by a bunch of buddys), just in case Flatliner is considering getting one….I know he’s big on that kind of stuff.

There is also a leaf blower attachment for small seed. Don't personally have one of these but a friend swears it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Just throwing out more options to make your choice more difficult for ya. :)

I have the leaf blower attachment for my Milwaukee battery powered blower and it works well to blow and disperse seed.
