I don’t know about you kids but this old fart is ready to rock and roll some bruins! Will start tossing baits out this week; am anxious to see some of the beauties we had on camera last year. Good luck to everyone this Spring nothing better than watching the woods come alive and playing in the mud!

Something you don’t see every day elk and bears taking turns at the bait. Elk are there for the grain not the meat - I hope - but it might make calling them in more interesting!

Left in the sun for a week they will fester nicely in black pails. Bears can smell them for miles.

Spring looks like it’s coming early to northern Alberta this year. My hunt isn’t till May 18th and the first week the camp runs
Curious how an early spring with affect the hunt. I guess all the bears will be out. Maybe more rubbed bears? Bugs for sure. Last year we hardly had bugs
Thoughts?

Last year was crazy with the Alberta fires. They year before there was snow on the ground the first week
I’d rather have bad bugs than deal with fires again
Isn’t it bears come out when the frost leaves the ground? It’s 50F/30F pretty steady north of Slave Lake Alberta right now
