I have a new bow and am trying a new thumb release. It’s ok and I’m getting better with it, but I’m not convinced it’s right for me to hunt with. I also want a back up incase it gets lost. What are you using for an Index finger release?

I used a Scott Silverhorn for many years. Last summer I got a Scott Verge and really, really like it. Both are hook releases but the Verge uses two fingers to trigger. It’s hard to explain but it just seems like you have way more control.

Same here Ambush. I’ve shot Carter releases for years (Like Mike, Rx1, and Quickie), but for me, I prefer the Scott Verge…by far.

Spott Hogg Tuff Guy. Has helped me tremendously with punching.

Scott Echo. It's adjustable for length and trigger pull. I like a heavier trigger and I have shortened the connecting strap so I catch the trigger between the 1st and 2nd knuckle.

I am trying out the Scott s2 this year. I have no complaints. Its dual sear so its super crisp.

I've been using the Scott Shark now for quite a few years. Thinking about trying a Wiseguy.

I switched to a Spot Hogg Keeton hybrid trigger release after watching a Randy Ulmer video. Instant improvement, and it made drawing the bow way easier on my right shoulder, too.

Thanks for posting this , my old Scott pistol grip is not in the catalog and I have been looking at the release aids listed on this post and am now more up to date if I should lose mine . Never could get used to the wrist strap style , always clanking something when I reached to grab . Dang the prices though . Yikes

VAmts, slide your wrist strap 180° so the release head is on the top of your hand. No more clanks.

Lou: does that Keeton release affect your draw length/anchor? "Easier on my right shoulder" sounds helpful to this geezer.

Stan, very crisp, adjustable travel, good for pulling through

Lost Arra, watch the Randy Ulmer video. It's highly adjustable and I set it for my normal draw length. Being able to use my arm muscles to help draw really helped take a load off my shoulder. That was what Randy liked about it too.

A trusty old Fletcher Flat Head. If this thing ever dies, Ill weep for days, I think. It's literally family at this point ha ha ha.

Same as Ambush and Wyobullshooter; I've been shooting with a Scott Verge release for a while now and have been seeing my groups tighten up

I just changed from a scott mongoose to a carter like mike 2. It is taking some getting used too having a no travel trigger but I'm starting to really like it. Some like to use it as a back tension release. I actually loosing up the tension. and still use my first pad of my index finger to fire it. I have never shot a bow using the surprise fire so I am sticking to what I am used too.
