I'm hunting out west where we cover miles on foot running and gunning in steep terrain. Looking for ideas on decoy bags, or ways to carry them efficiently

What decoys and how many are you carrying?

For multiple full size decoys I use a mesh duck decoy bag

When I hunt like that I only carry one Montana hen decoy. Here's it next to a mesh bag of 4 deflated avianx decoys including a jake. Mesh bag has to be getting close to 30lb the other can't be more then 3lb.

Mesh duck decoy bag here as well. Best way I’ve found. It can be strapped to a pack. Bulky but light weight.

I like to carry things in a pack (calls, snacks, water, etc.). Therefore, I tend to try find a pack that can handle a couple decoys. I have a Kifaru Nomad and it handles 2 deeks (jake and laydown hen) well, as well as my goodies.

I use a Beard Buster Blind Hog pack to carry a DSD half strut jake, breeding hen and an upright hen, along with all my other crap. Works really well. If you packed it a little more strategically, you could pack a blind and possibly 2 dekes. Horn Hunter might possibly sell them now.

I use the Blind Hog pack also. I carry a DB blind, 2 chairs, calls, and 2 decoys. It is awesome!

I use my the same daypack I use for all my hunts. When you run and gun a lot like we do here in the west there is no way you can lug all those decoys, chairs, blinds, etc. I carry one foam rubber upright hen in my pack or between the frame and pack. Only need one to get and keep the attention of the Tom on it. We turkey hunt in the mountains so it’s a lot like elk hunting with the same tactics.

When covering ground I tend to grab my Kifaru frame w/ Guide lid & Grab-it or 1/4 panel for decoys (deflated Avian-Xs). Otherwise, mesh duck decoy bag (similar to PushCoArcher) to/from bow blind.

I use a Rack pack and carry a small back pack, blind and 2 or 3 decoys.
I am seriously considering dropping the blind for the majority of my hunts next spring. I weighed my pack yesterday when I got home and it weighed 48.5 lbs. I don’t need to kill a turkey that bad any longer.

Just like the deer and antelope hat decoys. You could wear them on your head.
