Gerry killed a 186 lb black nice coat he didn’t like the rain said better get it done, the wind is right today we’re going after the giant I will bet he’s closer to 500 than 400 lb hoping to weigh him or his twin brother.

The giant didn’t show but one respectable bear showed couldn’t get his bow pulled back thinks too much cloths on that’s how it goes at times, the night before he was on different bait another shooter wouldn’t give him broad side shot. Camp baits been slow only small black yesterday during the day thought not much sense putting him there sure enough a 350-400 class dandy comes out of the west early feeding in the field then disappeared I thought he will probably hit the bait at last light sure enough he did my heart sank what do u do. The grass dandelions fiddler ferns r out the bears r feeding on them right now not hanging on the baits there in and out, it should improve in the next while. The last guy hunted camp first night they watched 4 bear the night before feeding at bait nothing showed Monday night so I moved him, I always say stick to a good bait u got 5 nights good chance the right one will come. He has 2 nights left we’re going to try another bait tonight I’m confident something good will show.

Waiting for the guys out of the corner of the field I see an elk which I think is a yearling no it’s not an elk it’s a bear and it’s heading for the bait sniffing the ground and running hoping there’s a good ending.

t-Roy that’s a good one about your ex but to bad, well it didn’t quit raining last night all hunters except one seen bear and the big one I seen in field didn’t show up at bait, one guy had a giant at last light he’s killed a big one here before at 360 lbs he says this one had at least a 100 lbs on him but didn’t get to weigh him yet but u never know. Suppose to rain again today the craziness continues.

My oldest hunter we ever had at 87 years young killed a nice bear last night 320 lbs Don give him an arrow. We had 2 mishaps misses also still 5 left for tonight not raining yet.

I was up at 5 o’clock this morning seen the horses were running around I thought something s after the colt so I jumped on the side side to go take a look the horses were close to the bear bait there was nothing there but a big bear on bait seen him in the head lights so I came back to the house woke up mark to go see if he could get him, it took him 1/2 hour to get ready of he goes walk he got the hunting blind between him and bear and walked within 50 yards and the bear seen or sensed something ain’t right and he started heading in the bush mark got a shot of and the recovering was about 75 yards. A true Manitoba bruiser at 437 lbs. congrats to him.

Larry past on the bears he seen one early in the evening that he would take before dark wanting to see what else will show but he didn’t come back, he was happy said it was fun seeing all them bears his wife took one so there not going home empty handed good folks.

Another bear down by the Riding mountains a beautiful chocolate it was father and son sitting together at the camp bait Donovon and Trex , Dad killed the bear and I asked him u think we should wait before I go in and pic up he says is that a good idea I thought might not be but I was thinking a double could easily happen if I stayed out of there but I decided to go in and pic him up. Well as soon as I get him loaded Trex says big bear coming sure enough coming out of the west along the field big boar running towards bait I am caught I jump on my quad heading out he spots me in the bush he goes dang it 5 more minutes I would of been gone will see if he hits bait ,there waiting for him.

The last guy passed on the bears I move him around on baits he was plagued by sows with cubs they were chasing everything out he seen 47 bear this week, seemed like the bigger bear moved off to there summer range we weren’t catching them on camera. We want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for watching over us all through the season. Have a great summer all ,luv u folks.
