Sitting in the waiting room about to go in for carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgery (middle 2 fingers) on my right hand (I’m right handed). Because of that I am hoping to draw a muzzleloader elk tag this fall, but if I don’t, I would be wanting to go after elk with a bow. Will take Dr’s advice on that, but wonder how soon you guys started shootings after this surgery?

I have had both hands done. I waited until my dr said it was good to go-8 weeks.

I am a few months out from having my left hand done and I've tried shooting and it still hurts my hand

Had my right hand done (carpal tunnel) and 8 days later had to chop two logs in half with an axe to let a calf moose out of a corral in the Bighorns, didn't affect it a bit. A year and a half later had 4 trigger releases on the same hand. Abused both surgeries to the max and it all is great. BTW the surgeries really helped my shooting, as I was really starting to fall apart (traditional).......Mike
