This was from the last year it was open. Operator was a bit of a character but it was a great experience to bowhunt. It was on part of the King Ranch. Anyone remember it?

Hunted hogs & javelina with them in 1998. Fun place! Lots of big whitetails and cool Nilgia.

Saw more bucks in five days than at home in five seasons

Yep, like has been said. Game rich is an understatement. Owner was a card but didn’t put up with any crap. One guy camping had his son who was not hunting. He was warned not to let the kid hunt. Well, he did and got caught. The whole group got kicked out. Owners name was Jared Peeples if my feeble memory is right. He warned us to lock our vehicles up when out in the pastures hunting because a lot of illegals move through. He was right. One day we saw a kite flying. We snuck out to see what the hell? A whole family was moving through and the kids were flying a kite. Middle of nowhere damndest thing I’ve ever seen.

4 arrows outfitters, Wayne Peoples, East Saltillo pastures. Nilgai hunt was $150 a day, two day minimum, my biggest problem was how the hell was I gonna come up with 300 bucks. I still Nilgai hunt there nearly every spring but it’s through King Ranch Wildlife, they are starting to get stupid on the price though so may just start going every two or three years. The King Ranch is a magical place that every bowhunter should visit at least once.
