I spent last week up in wet and wild Wyoming!
Fun times, I did some digi-scoping, stumbled upon some elk sheds over my days hiking and spent some time with local friends.

Made for some gooey and mucky hiking the next morning.

These elk are about 3/4 of a mile away
I have learned it is easier to put my phone on and then look thru it instead of using the viewfinder on my spotting scope and then putting the phone on.
I use my bino's, like most everyone else to find the elk and then just look thru my phone/Magview set-up and go from there. up to 60 power.
Almost max Zoom @ 60 power.
Maybe 30--35 degrees.

It worked great on my 45 quart on this trip.
Off to the gym and then get a good hike in for sure.

It got so gooey and mucky that my boots looked like I was wearing those racing snowshoes!
I didn't want to blow a knee or anything, so I started to get off the game trail and bushwack thru the sagebrush ect. not as mucky but I was drenched from the thighs down form all the rain still on the brush.
I'm going along and see an elk shed, WoW, so I picked it up and used it for a walking stick.
I crest the last ridge and can see my truck, it's the steep down now so I'm slowly going and no way another shed.
They aren't matching but similar.
Pretty dang heavy.
I get to my truck and take a pic.
I get into Afton and am getting plenty of pointing fingers ect. I stop @ Gardners Gas station, and go inside just for the heck of it, and I draw a crowd around my truck.
I decide what the hey, 10 miles to Thayne, go for it.
I go out and some gal says her brother has been shed hunting and hasn't found anything and axe me where I found those.
I told her No Tell'em Ridge------she finally caught it and just started laughing.
Back up Fathers Day week, like most years.

I spent last week back up in Wyoming, checking on the elk and hiking.
The snow has melted somewhat since my May trip.
I got my winter rims and tires (MT's) switched to my summer rims and tires (AT's). Right at 2 miles a gallon better with the summer tread on.

man the bugs are getting bad as it gets warmer.
I finally figured out that I had to have the bino's as wide as they could go, not set for my eyes as I got rid of the red shadowing.
Then I just zoomed with my iPhone. kinda kool
Lot's of Velvet on the bulls and even a few Muley bucks.

There is a new sporting goods store in Afton.
It used to be that high end log/western style furniture store, right by the arch.
So much nicer than printing the 3 pages, for each stamp, off the website.
Nice to have a morning fire with coffee.
The more I use it the more I like it and it doubles as my walking stick.

I'm trying to decide if I am coming back up in mid-August or going to Iowa and get another look-see at Zone 5 on my tag I drew, tough call.
I hike with Snoop Dogg one morning haha
I'm most proud of the 20-year-old Predator camo pants I still fit in nicely.

I don't think a hood will make any difference on the heat waves. They are a common issue with long range photography. It is caused when surface temperature and air temp air are different. For example when ground is warmer than air it bends light waves differently as heat rises. Really common over asphalt or water, but can happen anywhere at any time.
Yeah, dang heat waves....
I feel guilty sayin' it, with all that is going on in the news and around the world, but I do love my life.
Good luck, Robb
I just got home from my last hiking/scouting trip up to Wyoming.
Nv.Mike will be coming in 09/09 for 7 hunting days so I might run up for the opener bow hunt 09/01 for a few days.
Rain was in the forecast and those dang Weather folks happened to be right for a change dang it.
Still beautiful after the storms past on the way.

If I felt, I was going to blow them out I stopped and just took a pic or two.
It was fun, no harm, no foul....
The younger bulls; Raggies/Spikes still had some velvet. the bigger bulls; 5x & 6x had hard horn already.
Gym, backpack hike and play catch-up here @ home.

Good luck!
I covered a lot of ground as far as hunt area's.
From Strawberry Creek Canyon to the north and almost got to Commissary Ridge to the south. And in-between of course.
I stripped off all the wet clothes that I could and put a towel on my seat to drive back to the cabin.
It is nice that all the sit-ups, crunches and leg lifts keep me Ab's slim and no belly! haha
I hardly ever show the 'Sleaves' tat's.
This Yote was about 75 yards out and to far/safe from the reach of my 10mm.
Even though he looks about 20 yards away.
My Covid Lungs are doing better, my rib has healed up and I can't do too much for the aging process @ 70.6 years old other than keep trucking along on the mountain.
