The unexpected death of the 5-time Olympic archer and 1996 team gold medalist was announced this week by USA Archery.

Oh no! I knew Butch for 20 years! He was a phenomenal shot and about as humble and helpful as they come.

Wow, that's a bummer. I had the privilege of shooting against and with Butch for a number of years. What gentleman and ambassador of the sport.

Was not even aware of Mr. Johnson but he surely contributed a lot to the sport of archery over his years. Seemed like a good man. Yea, life ended too soon. Dana, thanks for the post. My best, Paul
