Struck out with max NR points. No surprise. I’m quite sure my odds go down every year despite gaining 10 every year.

24 years still no draw.

The bonus point system started in 1998, so max points was 140 this year. 23 years of points and an extra 150 to still draw a blank this year is hard.

I don’t do those multi-point packs as I feel those are about as unethical as a policy could be. But quite sure Oryx is correct at 140 max. I don’t keep track but think I remember that number off my application.

Well with 75-80 NR applicants for every permit you only have another 50 years or so to go.
Even as a Resident it took me 36 years........

Keep applying, when you receive 30 bonus points, move to Maine when you are 65 years old and get residency. Guaranteed permit.
However, after 14 years and 30 bonus points I drew NR bull tag in zone 4. LOL

10 points a year for max point apps. Started 1998 so 25 years x 10 = 250, right?
No tag here. Congrats to everyone who drew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s a gradual build up to 10 points over the years. 10 per year after 16 years of applying.

I find it interesting that they publish people’s names and towns. Same for NH.

If you have been applying every year since 1998, the most bonus points you can have in 2024 would be 140 points. Bonus points are awarded per the following: 0 - 5 years = one point per year, 6 - 10 years = 2 points per year, 11 - 15 years = 3 points per year, 16+ years = 10 points per year.
Plus you can buy points packages that kinda wrecks any sort of odds calculations.

Whatever it is that’s what I have, as I’ve applied since 1996. The Maine system is such a joke and has changed so many times I really don’t pay attention nor care any more. Check out the minutes of the meetings where these rules are made and you will see why I don’t care. They are administered by a pile of unprofessional clowns, and corrupt politicians like Troy Lewis. Thousands of disillusioned applicants, both R & NR, have abandoned this lottery. That speaks volumes.
Next show for Troy will be expanding outfitter welfare to 8% or 10%, all from the nonresident quota of course. Then lowering the cost of multi-bonus point packs to 100 chances for $50. What a guy. Flat out prostitution.

Zim it really sound from the post above like you really DO care. Lot of emotion for not caring.

Actually my measuring stick is politics. If I think political action can lead to change, I jump in and get involved. Such as I did in AZ & IA. Maine is a lost cause due to the mentality of those that administer the rules. I mean any state that’s willing to peddle unlimited bonus points tells you all you need to know. No other state stoops so low to devalue the points they sold previously. Check out the minutes to their meetings and you will also see.

Over 30 years of applying and same result! Maybe next year. I'll certainly make my annual donation. At least I'll be moose hunting this year with my son in Alaska. :)

Well, if this makes anyone feel better, here in Colorado as a resident, and after applying for a bull moose tag for the past 26 years, I did draw that tag this year with 3 PP and 23 weighted points. I almost gave up as I was aging of this moose hunt but time was on my side this year. Hang in there. My best, Paul

16 years in a row finally gave it up. Maine in a non residents 8% draw.

You just never know when it could happen. I drew NH on my second try in 2000 and ID on my first try this year. Also drew MT and WY in the past. You can’t draw if you don’t try. I don’t like Maine’s system though. They cheated us with their point scam. That’s when I dropped out.
