The elimination of party hunting, makes it illegal, for 3 brothers to do drives on the family farm..... wow, big brother in action

I think residents can still party hunt

GoundHunter.... I must agree with you. Had some of the best hunting times of my life with 12 to 16 people pushing 80's, 160's and larger tracts of land in the UP in the 70's and early 80's. I miss those days. Hunting styles sure have changed. A nice horned buck was always a plus but, meat was meat. To many today worried about someone killing "their" buck.

I'm prob out of date but I thought party hunting was where you could tag anybodies deer in the party. So one guy could shoot a deer for everybody if it worked out.

That was several years back in MN tho.

Hell I might have been wrong then too, but when bro and a bud and I went, I told them on the way I WASN"T tagging anybody else's deer... LOL

Drives are still legal as long as you have a tag with your name on it for the deer you shoot.

You can still do party drive hunts. You just can't tag anyone else's deer which was dumb that you ever could.

I was under the assumption only nonresidents were not allowed to party hunt in Iowa with the rules changes this year.

Didn’t hear of anything about banning deer drives or banning residents from party hunting.

For those that don’t know party hunting and deer drives are not tied to one another. You can be part of a party that party hunts and never do a deer drive.

Does Hunter Biden have a NR Iowa tag? I'll pass, I hear he parties a lot!

I thought the two were related...My mistake. Haven't done either in 40 years.

Party hunting in Iowa is not allowed for NR, but is still allowed for residents

(2)Party hunting. a.Resident party hunting. During the first and second regular gun seasons and the January antlerless-deer-only seasons, any resident hunter present in the hunting party may use their tag on a deer harvested by another resident. b.Nonresident party hunting. Party hunting is not allowed by nonresidents.
