Yeah, if and when you go with a guide, you rely heavily on trusting that they are doing things legally. Pretty sad when they aren’t end, the Hunter can easily be implicated through ignorance. Always best to double check and go with your gut, indeed in many cases these outfitters are busted because of hunters reporting them

I've never been on a guided hunt, but I've chartered fishing trips on both the east/west coasts and on inland lakes. In every case I've contacted the guide and asked what I needed to do to be legal (permits and such). I very well wouldn't know if they were lying to me or not. Ignorance would certainly be at my own fault, but when hiring a professional you'd expect a certain amount of competence.
