"Transgender cyclists take top 3 spots in Washington women's relay championship"

"The annual Marymoor Grand Prix kicked off on Friday at the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome with at least three transgender athletes taking part in a 2-person relay of the Elite Women’s division.

According to results made available on Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome’s website, the top three teams each had one biological male. They included Jordan Lothrop, Jenna Lingwood and Eva Lin."

https://www.foxnews.com/media/transgender-cyclists-take-top-3-spots-washington-womens-relay-championship

what a coincidence.

what are the chances that the top three teams in a womans cycling relay race all contained biological males?

I guess if the feminists and women don't care or wont speak up the sport gets dominated by freaks.Such fear of PC culture dominated by fringe people.

Should not be happening in sport. It's not fair. Regrettably, it's an issue being grappled with. I've said it many times on here, trans people are people and should have equal rights. That ends at sport though, given it's abundantly clear that at least for a Male to Female trans person, there are significant performance gains which last. It sucks for a person in that situation, but it's reality.

Trans people are mentally ill people and should have the same rights as other mentally ill people.

I believe every person has some degree of mental illness, to clump a group of individuals and categorize them is "lunacy" itself. scentman

" I've said it many times on here, trans people are people and should have equal rights."

i agree...however those "rights" should not infringe on anyone elses "rights."

you mean the same rights as other "people"...correct?

Well at least it appears that all of us mentally ill people on the Bowsite, who waste our time arguing with other mentally ill people have equal rights.....

Yes, equal to only other trans competitors in a trans only competition.

They should force all NCAA teams to offer transsexual divisions and make them offer equal numbers of scholarships

From: APauls
25-Jul-24
^^^equal number of scholarships as a %. I'd be fine with trans competing in mens divisions, or trans divisions. But not women's divisions. Unless there is a sport that women dominate, in that case put them in the women's division. I just can't currently think of a sport that women dominate.

"They should force all NCAA teams ..."

'They' WHO? And 'force' ???? Hardly how a 'free' society works!

Now, if some schools *choose* to host teams for these people as part of a league, and it is all voluntary, I'm fine with that. If they really want to play, they can *choose* to attend one of those schools. But no school should be forced to cater to any particular class of student-athletes.

Think of it this way – would you force a school to host a 'team' for golfers if there's only one person attending that school who wants to play that sport? Would you force every school to host an archery team? Lacrosse? Badminton? Shuffleboard? Curling?

Should we force liberal arts colleges to teach STEM courses? Should we should force MIT to offer liberal arts degrees?

Maybe we could stop trying to force colleges to cater to every last person. Maybe we could take force out of the equation.

DanaC, read Title IX. Congress can force universities to do things against their wishes. They have, and they will again.

Haven't heard anything on it yet, but what's the Olympic Committee rules on trans in the Olympics??? Am assuming it's a "no" since it hasn't been talked about...

25-Jul-24
“OK, does either party platform advocate overturning that?”

Have you read the Republican Party platform?

25-Jul-24
Olympics is a “no” for some sports...and a "yes" for some sports...and a "depends" for some sports.

title IX simply says you cant discriminate on the basis of sex. at least thats what it used to say until joe decided to rewrite it.

Is not hard to stand up for the rights for elite women athletes wanting to compete against the best female competition. If instead you support trans being identified as female for sporting contests which rely on muscle strength then this effectively is saying all athletes should compete in one contest no matter the biology at birth.

The WNBA will collapse. Young girls who were biologically female at birth will be relegated to never winning elite swimming contests, soccer, softball, cycling, weightlifting, etc. That seems the opposite of what Title IX sought to achieve for female athletes.

Let’s just let anybody compete in any sport, it makes just as much sense.

In year 2040 ,what will it bring

If man can survive

If women are still alive

When both will be the same

And all will hide their blame

Then the devil,he will be king In year 2050,what will it bring

People tired of their fears Living hard ,only crying tears

Worry not,even as we stray

God always, leads the way

With the devil ‘s end, let all sing

Look at all the good today to defeat the bad of yesterday Paths of pain we must try learn not to follow .all that lie.

This is just a test of our times. Many will accept it - Others will see it for what it really is.I refuse to live in a LIE .

(from wikipedia) "Title IX is a landmark federal civil rights law in the United States that was enacted as part (Title IX) of the Education Amendments of 1972. It prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government."

That last part is key. Not sure why these schools are receiving funding from the federal government. But refusing to take that money might free them up to adopt positions more in keeping with their philosophies. You don't actually *have to* suck the government teat...

26-Jul-24
"It prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government."

im totally on board with title iv...as it was originally intended.

having said that...isnt it interesting how the most intelligent among us are constantly railing about the fact that sex is not gender...now apparently for the purposes of title IV...gender is sex.

fortunately...bidens rewrite is an executive order and will surely be reversed if trump (or any other republican) is elected.

From: DanaC

Ricky, any school can apply their own standards of gender or sex, or whatever, as long as they tell the government to shove the money. Let them show what their principles really mean in terms of cold, hard cash.

26-Jul-24
“ Ricky, any school can apply their own standards of gender or sex, or whatever…”

…and many private schools do just that.

That is completely irrelevant to my point…which is the propensity of some to insist that gender isn’t sex…until it’s convenient to conflate the two for political purposes.

You’d think they’d be tripping over their tongues to point that out…like they take every opportunity to do here.

Go figure…

27-Jul-24
unless this is reversed...you can pretty much say goodbye to female college sports.

"Protect against all sex-based harassment and discrimination.>/b> The final rule protects all students and employees from all sex discrimination prohibited under Title IX, including by restoring and strengthening full protection from sexual violence and other sex-based harassment. The rule clarifies the steps a school must take to protect students, employees, and applicants from discrimination based on pregnancy or related conditions. And the rule protects against discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics"

"Boxers previously barred from women's events will fight in Paris Olympics"

"At the time of their disqualifications, the president of the International Boxing Association, which governs the World Boxing Championships, alleged that the boxers’ chromosome tests came back as XY (women typically have two X chromosomes, while men typically have an X and a Y chromosome).

“Based on DNA tests, we identified a number of athletes who tried to trick their colleagues into posing as women,” the association’s president, Umar Kremlev, told Russia’s Tass news agency at the time. “According to the results of the tests, it was proved that they have XY chromosomes. Such athletes were excluded from competition.”

wow...what could possibly go wrong?

maybe if somone gets killed or suffers brain damage this will finally end.
