Thanks everyone! It’s been an awesome adventure! I’ve gotten to share many of these trips with some incredible Bowsiters, and Zack. Those shared memories and experiences have been the unexpected best part of this dream that I am chasing.
We are currently in Yellowknife waiting for our flight to Norman Wells. All of my gear made it so far, which is a huge relief. We should make it to Norman Wells today, and then base camp tomorrow. If the weather is good to fly we will be on the mountain on Wednesday and hunting on Thursday. I’ll send updates whenever I can!

Just posted Dan's first update. It's really difficult to hear him, I tried to clean it up with an audio program but a lot of it is inaudible. Sorry, I'll try to get him a message to speak louder and clearer, and out of the wind (if that's possible) but understand he's in the middle of nowhere with a SAT phone so the quality will be all over the place.

My friend Danny IS the most self-driven, yet selfless; hard-working, yet fun-loving; dedicated, yet enjoyable; focused, yet giving; self-made, yet thankful; talented, yet humble; serious, yet self-effacing; eager, yet patient individual you will ever meet—let alone bowhunter you will meet.
It has been a true pleasure to watch from close—and a far—this past decade as he has set out to peruse and achieve his childhood goal. And it’s not just an impressive fact that he has achieved it, but how he has achieved it that has been truly admirable.
Please don’t think this is the end for Mr. Evenson. He has so much more in the voluminous chapters to come.
