Our Ameristep Blind…
I am looking for a good 2 person pop up ground blind. Need enough room for my son or wife to shoot and I to film.

We are both 6 foot so one tall enough to stand in would be nice. We have an ameristep that is older with magnetic tarp window system. A real Pain to set the windows.

We also have a Rhino blind. It is just a little tight and the window size is a little small….

So what do you think? I think the ameristep we got is nearly 20 years old and still works.

You get what you pay for. Go quality. You’ll be glad you paid more. This is family memories. Lifetime memories.

I do t know a lot about blinds except I’d be looking at double bull. Maybe there’s better now? Just get quality.

Can you take the one you have and modify it to fit your needs?

Don’t go cheap or you’ll learn how to swear in a hurry. Xenex blinds $250 you’ll love them. Guys have complained they shine but I haven’t found that. Dead animals don’t lie

Double bull are great too but might be more than your willing to spend

I have two Xenek. blinds. Both are a wreck. The wands or rods that support the blind when it is opened , have poked through their pockets. Now they stick out, no way to mend the pockets. It’s impossible to erect the blind with the rods completely detached from their hubs. The tie-down loops for the corner tent pegs rip off after several uses. If anyone has a solution, let me know. Customer support is no help!

It sounds like you need to look at Barronet blinds. I'm six foot and shoot recurves and longbows have 2 different models of Barronets that I can stand up in and also shoot out of while sitting. If you're going to be Antelope hunting go with one that has 600 weight material. The wind won't bother it so much.

Double Bull Doublewide is a great blind that will meet your space needs. They are on sale at Scheels right now, I think. It's still not cheap ($420 if I remember right), but like was said above, you get what you pay for with blinds. A cheap Barronet blind will also work, but won't last. If it's a one time deal, you might be fine going cheap.

Good luck and have fun!

"A cheap Barronet blind will also work, but won't last."

I respectfully disagree, I have the Double bull double wide, and I have a Barronett Ox5. The ox5 is hands down better IMO. Its also considerably larger and extremely well made and less expensive. The ox is 96x96x72 vs 60x60x70, the OX regular price is $400 vs $500 on the bull.

I also have 4 of the Tidewe see through blinds - they are ok but too small IMO, they are budget friendly though like $130.

I love my 600wt Barronnett 3 person blind. Extra tall version called Big Mike. What a great blind!! Could even stand and shoot archery if I wanted....!

Barronett makes a good blind. I have three of them.

That said, I still have my Double Bull from ~25 years ago....
