I took a group of old and new friends to namibia. Was 4 of us doing a mix of bow and rifle hunting. Lee has gone with me 2 times before oscar was first time rifle hunter and justin was 2nd time over but first with me. My friend and Ph pieter delport was the outfitter and head ph. We ended up with 4 kudu 2 bow 2 rifle 3 eland 1 bow 2 rifle 3 red hartebeest 2 bow 1 rifle 2 blue wildebeest 1 bow 1 rifle 3 springbuck trophy 1 cull. 2 bow 2 rifle and 1 wounded one that got away. 1 mtn zebra rifle 2 burchel both rifle 1 steenbuck rifle 1 warthog rifle 1 waterbuck bow 1 black wildebeest bow. A few misses and many others passed on.
Sounds like a great trip, with a lot of nice animals taken. Congratulations.
Congrats Bill! It’s tough to get a black wildebeest with a bow!
Congrats to all, that’s a good mix of critters and some beautiful kudus.
Well done, congratulations! It looks like you had a great trip, love the pictures.
I just got back from my 2nd trip to South Africa myself. I took a couple of friends along on their first trip as well, They both hunted with a rifle, as did my girlfriend. I hunted with a bow. We all shot multiple animals, and everyone had an amazing experience!
If anyone has been thinking about it and hasn't gone, I highly recommend that you go, it's hard to describe how amazing it is, and how different it is than hunting in the USA.
My girlfriend said she's "taking her bow next year", so ... I guess we're going back. I'll just have to figure out a few more animals to target!
To quote a Bowsite legend: "It's later than you think." Mighta been the same guy who said "take a trip of a lifetime every year". Sage advice.
Taking first timers is always exciting
Very nice trophies. Congrats !!
Whats really nice is when I take people I share the saving dont just take others to help pay for my trip. I go each year no matter what any way. I have met some great new hunting friends over the years sharing africa.
Last day kudu for justin. After missing a kudu with his bow justin stuck it out and was rewarded.
Amazing heavy horned for such a dry area.
Congrats!!!
yes old mature animals with thick and worn horns were taken. Plenty of young animals were passed on
