My grandfather recently passed-was with me during all of my firsts as a hunter (and fisherman) and was my idol.

Having some limbs made for my recurve using the fabric from one of his coveralls, as well as a patch sewn onto my new deer & bear hunting pack.

I’ll still hunt with a compound & would like to keep grandpa with me-need some ideas.

I was thinking take some of the fabric & somehow incorporate it into my compound somehow.

Maybe find someone to custom make a nice wrist strap? I usually just use d-loop material but any idea’s would be appreciated

Put it on your quiver

I like the wrist strap idea. Another idea could be a picture that you put on the hood of your quiver and put a finish over it. If you've got a picture of him or of the two of you together, it seems like that might be a good fit. Also, if he had a saying you really liked that reminds you of him, that might get put on the hood of your quiver in the same way.

Quiver idea is cool, saving up for a new RX8 Ultra now so I have some time to figure it out still.

I would take some of the material and have it made into a phenolic product and have some scales for knife made from it. You could also incorporate that material into a quiver hood, have it inlaid into a riser etc.

Any idea where to get that done FDP?

If you talk to some of the knifemakers in your area or on here you will likely locate someone who will do it for you.

I spoke with a guy once who said he just mixed a batch of expoxy, wetted out the fabric (strips of suitable dimensions), layered them up and then let the epoxy set while the stack was compressed (very tightly) between a couple pieces of plywood using big, strong clamps or a vise. I think you’re looking to squeeze out as much of the epoxy as you can, basically, but you can probably find a MeToob video on it….,

Good luck with the project…

I think the quiver hood would be cool.
