We did a semi live hunt back in 2018. Heading back to pine acres now. Should get to camp around 10 tomorrow. Will try to update as we go if y’all can stomach a semi live bear hunt. It won’t be as fun as a political thread. Unless we get in an argument over what the best beer is. Ten of us total this year 8 people hunting and two along for the ride and fishing. I tried to find the old thread from last time to bump it up but the computer outsmarted me. Gonna cross the border early tomorrow morning and should be on stand by 3 or so. Hopefully have some pics and stories for ya tomorrow night.

My friends Matt and Ben and I had a great spring hunt in Manitoba this spring and got some great bears. Hopefully we stack up a pile of them this trip. I’m gonna try one with my long bow this time. We have three truck loads of people this trip. My brother Jay, Scott and I are in one. Andrew, Nolan, his dad Bill and Ziggy in the second. My cousin Shannon, his dad and mom in the third. We’ve had this trip planned for a couple years so everyone is pretty excited. Weather looks decent while we’re there. Chris always has a top notch set up. No doubt we’ll all see plenty of bears. Couple of the guys first bear hunt. Uncle Chuck hasn’t killed one before. He’s in his mid 70’s and gonna try to knock one down with his muzzleloader.

Nice to see you on here John. I’m gonna make it happen with the struggle stick. I was hoping to see you up here screwball.
5 out of the 8 of us hunting last night didn’t see any bears. The guys that had some come in passed on them. Scott had four bears on the bait at the same time. Gonna eat some biscuits and sausage gravy, go fishing then get back in the stands. Gonna be a great day and hopefully a busy night!

Me to, but after 30 years I am retired and am in the needing of a complete kitchen gut and remodel, that Kathy well deserves. Then I am leaving September 14th for a moose hunt in Northern Manitoba. I Just can't make it fit. It is also a good thing as Kathy's mom passed away yesterday afternoon, 97 young years but still hard. She was a great person. Good luck, have a beer for me and keep Chris in line!

Somehow Andrew hit the only stick in his shooting lane. It deflected the arrow and hit it in the neck. Hundred yard blood trail and there it was. Will get pictures of Scott’s bear when we get back from fishing. Most of us seen bears last night. I passed on a smaller one. Was a fun night!

No shots from our group last night. Same bear came back to my bait. Ziggy,uncle Chuck and Nolan still haven’t seen a bear. Chris is moving ziggy to a new site today and is going to have us try a morning sit tomorrow.

Uncle Chuck finally seen his first bear this evening. He didn’t shoot because he couldn’t tell if it was a boar or sow. Sounds like it was the big one that’s been on camera. One more day to enjoy!!

Bullbats are nighthawks. Sometimes you can hear them calling while they’re flying. They peent similar to a woodcock, and they also make a noise like a soft bull bellow. That noise is made by the air rushing through their wings when they dive.

Thanks fellas. We just crossed the border and heading home. Ziggy and bill didn’t see anything last night. Both of them had a great time. Uncle Chuck saved the best for last. He said an old timer needs to wait and shoot an old bear. It was all four of us could do to make it 10 yards at a time carrying it out. Even slipped of the stretcher once going up a hill. It was 2:30 am by the time we got it skinned and quartered. Can’t thank Chris enough for putting up with us all week. Can’t wait to go back. Now it’ll be a long 13 day wait and Andrew dale and I will be heading west for two weeks of chasing elk. Thanks for following along. Hope it was entertaining.

Was great having your group in camp Dave. I tracked 2 of Dave's groups Bears. After Dave got his Bear he took over the tracking and retrieving his Groups Bears. Freed me up to take care of the other 7 hunters in camp. Thx again Dave!!
