Asking on both sides….

Who offers the hottest orange feathers for fletchings? I want them crazy, stupid bright, like a brand-new traffic cone.

I thought I had hit the jackpot when I found a 100-pack of full length, but I just received some 4” shields from the same supplier and they are really not what I had in mind…

They’re probably not all bad to have for use with a bow quiver, but I’m really looking for one of those colors Definitely Not Found In Nature…

I’m following this; and am looking for same. I’ve never seen them. My solution to this point has been a flourescent orange wrap, with orange, or white feathers.

I received a few feathers in a LW trade many years ago; definitely Fluorescent, and having shot a lot of deer inside of 10 yards while wearing plenty of it, I don’t see any downside to making it my Signature Color, especially since no-one else at the club is using it…

And I’ll tell ya… a flo-orange cockfeather with 2 dark brown/bronze hens is a GREAT looking arrow.

I’m adding a bow quiver to my set-up this year instead of the Catquiver that I have used since the early ’90s, and I have decided that I probably shouldn’t stick with the all-white that I used last year. And there’s probably some up-side to using a color that ML Season hunters have been trained to look for….

I like yellow & chartreuse as well, but even on a flu-flu those don’t jump right out against September aspens…..

So far, the Word on the Wall is NEON.

If that’s what you really want, you need to make sure that the manufacturer really wants you to know that that’s what you’re getting…. I suppose some vendors will substitute “Fluorescent”….

But I am still open to hearing from those who’ve noticed a difference and find one brand to be brighter than the rest….

Have you looked at Gateway feathers?

21-Aug-24
Have not tried them, but they are one of the recommendations I got on the Wall; I’m looking to see if anyone is offering them full-length, as I plan to use a goodly number of them on flu-flus, and also I’ve been burning my own shapes, which I am hoping will help me differentiate my 340s from 400s from 500s from 600s…

Sometimes it’s hard to tell everything apart just by point weight. ;)

Could you dye white feathers to the color you’re after??

Kool-Aid can work well, and you can’t beat the flexibility of buying white and dying whatever you need, but I don’t have time to mess with it.

Yes, you have to get the Add Your Own Sugar kind….
