11 days to CO opener on elk

18 until I am chasing elk in WY. It is about to get REAL! Plans in place?
I plan to run up to WY tomorrow after work and camp through Saturday. Taking the starlink and will work in camp on Friday, them start pulling cams and test hanging my tree stand in a couple locations. May leave some cams around the stand sites in case I get a lucky kill shot like Paul did last year or before.
Then I took off next Thurs afternoon to run up Coffee Pit and secure a good campsite for my MO hunting buddies ahead of the labor day crazies. I will hang out with them and fish and drink until Tuesday 9/3. Them back to work force days and pack up the 5th wheel to drag up to WY for the Main Event!!!

Still working out and fine tuning gear for then next 16 days. I’ll head up Sept 30 to setup camp then myself, my 3 sons and my brother from Utah will head up for the 10 day hunt on September 7. $h!ts gettin real ;^) It’s your year Jordan. Just don’t blow em all out before season starts. Ha.

We're going up to check on our tent, on our lot, and stay a night this weekend I think. Going to move it down the road on the 6th for 10 days of elk hunting.
Labor Day weekend we'll get in a couple of days of WT hunting we hope, maybe a rifle cow elk too.
It's still so hot, and I'm still so out of shape. I don't even have a tag yet. Not at all ready probably won't bow hunt elk this year.

There’s still time Pete! Work your ass off the next 4 weeks then hunt the last week of September. Hell at least pack in a tree stand and spend some time in the elk woods. Beats the hell outta most anything else.
Taking my camper up this Friday, check camera cards again, pray for a cow moose without a calf, which is in real short supply this year (cows of any kind in my unit). Fortunately there seem to be good numbers of elk around, so there's that..

Not leaving until 9/15 and hunting on 9/16 which is a good thing as I have a ton to get done between now and then. Hunting the same place I have the past several years so I have everything in good shape for the hunt. Just too much work, home and life stuff to knock out so I can go. Can't wait to hear the boys scream!
Hitting Wyoming the weekend of the 21st for 4-5 days. If I can’t kill one then, I’ll go back in December to clean up. First time with a Wyoming tag in hand so I’m very excited.
Leaving MN on the 30th, one-night in motel. Should have camp all set up by about noon on the 31st. Then one day to kick back, put back pack together, shoot a few times, and have a couple drinks.
Have been hunting this area for the past 4 years so no need in running around busting them out day before opener.
No cell service, so won't be checking BS till we come back to town.

My NM elk hunt starts Sept 9. Really getting pumped over it.
Good luck this year Jordan! I’ve got 13 days to wait once we get back from Canada then the wheels head west on the 6th. Be on a mountain on the 8th for two weeks. Good luck everyone!
