My employer recently purchased the company that packages all our parts. Now they are in the same building and being in maintenance I was involved in helping them set up all their wire saws , shelving and stuff. I noticed they had a lot of high density polyethylene foam and asked if they had any that was going to get tossed out. Well eventually they gave me six , 4' x 9' sheets!

I bought some duramesh target faces and fastened all the pieces together with some 1/8" round stock I had laying around.

They stop an arrow really well.

Lets see your backyard range or wherever you shoot.

Where did you get the target faces? I recently bought a big 4x4 compressed wood target and would love to try some of the target faces out

Egad, tell me you shot the deer and elk target with turkey load to check for patterning.

Have you thought about building a frame to compress layers together? If you cut them 12" x 48" it would yield 9/sheet (or) 12" x 24" yielding 18/sheet. Finished target size of 1'x2'x4' would need 24 pieces of 1'x2' and only need about one and a half sheets of 4'x9' foam. This way you could shuffle the pieces around to extend the life of the target.

Those are nice. Do they leave foam "snow flakes" like some types of foam do?

No Frank, it's not the polystyrene stuff. I wouldn't want that stuff all over the place. It is Polyethylene, which is self healing to some extent, and doesn't make a mess.
