If you are heading to WY, especially in the northeast roughly in a triangle of Buffalo to Kaycee to Gillette, make some calls first!
We are fighting fires since Wednesday and LOTS of antelope area is burned, the biggest fire is pushing towards 200,000 acres and as of late last night at 0% containment
Call your outfitter, or landowner or GF to check if you should cancel

The House draw fire between Gillette and Buffalo is 175,000 acres (273 sq mi.) The Remington fire that started in N E Sheridan Co and went way up into Mt is 184,000 acres (287 sq mi). Both of these fires were extremely fast moving and the Remington fire had about a 10 mile front. A lot of it is on the Custer national Forest. Small animals, antelope, deer, elk and cattle were undoubtedly burned alive by thousands. The Remington fire went 30 miles in less than 24 hours I believe. If you want to see a map go to Montana Department Of Natural Resources Fire Map. The winds were probably 30-40 mph. I was out antelope hunting when a smaller fire was getting going (almost 7,000 acres) and I never felt so helpless in my life watching that thing go. It ran about 6 miles in 5 hours. Wished I knew how to put on video. Terrible, terrible.......Mike

Onx actually has the fires on the maps. As of this morning the buffalo, gillete, kaycee fire is about 25% contained this morning.
I am sure it has an effect on the deer and antelope in those areas, as well as cows. Hopefully.most out ran it

Dead antelope everywhere. A friend shot 40 on his ranch that were burned and suffering. Another friend spent Thursday shooting their burned/suffering cattle.
Fire near our place (House Draw fire) ran 35-40 mph according to officials and has exceeded 200,000 ac.
The fire North of Sheridan and into MT has grown very large also. I read 125,000 ac IIRC.
Reports say the two fires near Gillette are exceeding 60,000 ac. now.
I am not aware of any fires near Kaycee at this time.

I drew an area 22 rifle tag this year coming out mid November. Talked to a local guy out there and he said fire never touched where we are planning to hunt thank the lord.
