In the Antelope blind today

Sitting in the blind today. Low expectations lots of rain last couple of weeks. Hunting a tank I have not hunting before. Can see a lot of ground to the north, almost nothing to east and west, a little to south. I put a camera up on another tank last weekend. No goats during day but they came in several times after dark. They must know I am after them. 88 for a high today. Better for my comfort, not as good as 98 for making goats thirsty.
I'll have 5G one time I look at phone and no service the next time.

Good luck, I hunted last year in Wyoming and water was everywhere. Almost had a 15 yard shot at a nice buck but he chased two does that were at the waterhole and ran right past the blind after them.

how far are you from the water trough? I think i would have setup the blind inside the bottom rails of the windmill.
From: JohnMC
26-Aug-24
About 20 yards. There was no room in between panels around windmill. It was against the tank. Had I sent up against either side I would have blocked a shot to part of tank and literally been a point blank shot if they were drinking. Also there was an overflow tank mostly behind me however that was mostly just mud but a few very small puddles and I want to keep that in play just in case. Last weekend when looking at it I figured that would have been there preferred place to drink but it had dried up over the week.

Paul let's save it for something a little more big deal than a lope. A Mt goat tag, desert sheep, or moose.

Man I hate sitting in blinds! I have a hard time getting through a few hours for turkey. Last time out before chasing elk, the goats have been really jumpy on stalks. I’ll see how long I make it in here. You back out John?

Read a book, take a short nap, but stay in the blind even if it is too hot you have to strip down to shorts. I did a couple years back, and an hour later , this buck show up at 4 pm.

Taken all my pronghorn by stalking, I just find it more enjoyable. I know the blind is the best way to get one down, I just don’t like it. I’m still in here though, see what happens.

Tomorrow and Monday is the plan. Itchy to get up and take some pictures of some bugling bulls. So I might do that Monday. But things are finally drying out. Ought to stay in blind both days

Wrong species and wrong sex. Don't judge me on the picture. Straight from camera to phone and terrible light sun is rising behind the deer. Some times back lighting works but not often.

Moved spots because they were working on windmills in section I was on, then 3 truck loads of dove hunters showed up started hunting 400 yards down the road (different property). Just had 11 doe/fawns coming in. If group I saw earlier had a decent buck. But he no where to be seen.

Day number 114 in the antelope blind. It ain't elk hunting which I'd prefer but its something.
Chilly this morning, got a jacket on 52 degrees with a stiff breeze. Few hours from now will be sweating my balls off. That's goat hunting I reckon.
