Any category suggestions?

I was thinking about a truck/auto category. Any other suggestions? I’m open to anything.
Cars, trucks, boats, campers, plenty of people with great rigs and idea's to share.
backpacking gear including food and meal prep for backcountry hunting. rifle hunting is another.
d.i.y. stuff
lotta knowledge here for folks that may need some pointers
i went in the chat room years ago and asked an A.C. question, it was late at night but i got an answer that got my system working until i could get an AC tech to take a look!!
Public land hunting. Tips, resources, things to avoid, real life experiences (good and bad).
BC, those topics are perfectly acceptable for the big game forum.
A few years ago I would have suggested a Connecticut live hunt forum but that topic seemed to vanish over time
one of the big things in the season we are in would be the effects of Socialism and the trends that led to loss of hunting both with bow and rifle in the western EU and what it would mean for the Nation as about half of it embrace the Nanny state.
The losses will be incremental but vast and encompassing on our rights and traditon's here.

What about a firearms category? I suspect most bow guys also do some bird hunting and possibly rifle for big game.
There is a gun hunting category
Check out the basement over at advrider. Lots of good thread ideas over there.
"There is a gun hunting category" I'll be damned. Probably should have explored a little before commenting.
Not a Category suggestion but more of a Nice to Have suggestion: I'm not sure if it's technically feasible ... but, How about a a BLOCK feature. When activated; posts by a particularly annoying Leftist would just show up with a "This Asinine Comment Has Been Blocked At Your Request".
Then, just for fun, you can publish a real time list of which people are blocked by how many members. I'd Definitely Pay for that feature.
I do notice already that this NT area has fewer of the usual (Dumb-ass) suspects, probably because they are afraid to use their real names.
A Grammarcheck and Spellcheck feature is probably too much to ask for huh? I know I know, I'm nitpicking; but how many times do we need to read: "I seen a big buck"?
Hey Pat, at the reply to thread box, could you possibly add the thread title?
For example, Reply to Thread: Any category suggestions?
Blocking folks is exactly what Brazil is doing to Twitter/X and Musk and we want that here as well? AAH, no really....
How about a common sense Like button or thumbs down turd button?

RGR07, even though a few here may have drastically different views than a majority of the rest of us I'm glad they have the opportunity to share theirs. What's up Dana & KSflatlander?
When anyone (soccermom) crosses the guidelines set forth here I don't feel bad if they get kicked to the curb though.
Afraid to use real name.
When you've seen yer photo on a wanted dead or alive flyer, sweatin the small stuff is not much of a worry. Leass ways for myself.

I am against blocking people as we are supposed to be for freedom of speech. If we block that we are no different than them.
Pat what about a stock market/ investing category?
How about a "TDS" Category, where affected BowLibs can safely convene and express and share their disgust?
It would be great therapy...like AA for BowLibs !
How to/equipment photography section.
I see old Shawn Gaymar is back. Are the banned now unbanned?
I am mostly seeing it as fly trap for those like itshot that can come and start a endless number of stupid threads and Ricky and Dana and few other can do their circle jerk there instead of on main forum.
That’ll be a great step forward for the main forum tho John !
As it may get lumped into the bowsite side. But, it’s made such a difference in my life once I got it right, I suspect I’m not the only guy that has run this gauntlet. So, a boot section seems so relevant.
Somebody like kota who’s owned a bunch of brands and models, could save the average guy a lot of frustration.
When a guy from rural wv buys boots, he’s somewhat limited on what he can get his hands on. So, his only way to find out is drop serious coin and invest months of ordering, trying on, and returning boots before he develops the knowledge and experience to buy the right boot for him.
With no idea how crispi fits his foot versus Lowa’s. Etc…. It’s a daunting task to go through this. Had my flat board feet not broken me down by 50, I’d never did it either.
If this belongs on the bowsite side, and it probably does, a sticky or some kind of link to a section that describes how the toe box on a meindl boot resembles that of crispy boots. Or, how a fat heel fits in each. Etc….
I might be off base but, I suspect there’s a lot of people on this site that live in places similar to mine. Rocky, Georgia, Irish setters, etc… are the only exposure to boots rural folks have. Which is fine for people with a normal arch. But, that’s about half the population. The rest of us don’t realize it’s a big deal until you get older.
Just an idea.
john, i was invited to 'test' so test i did
enjoyed the hell outta the old cf, so this new forum was long overdue
sorry bout not meeting your high standards, bud......when the thread owner tools return you'll be able to paint the clouds as big & fluffy as you'd like
I feel for you Burple State folks. I really do.

How about a Gun Dog or Hunting Dog category?
In kinda the same category: Pets/Livestock
And, one that is used some here already in the small game forum: Trapping
"Cars, trucks, boats, campers, plenty of people with great rigs"
That would be called "Vehicles"... Like DUIs are now called OMVI, Operating Motor "Vehicle" while Intoxicated...8^)
Hunting dog category.!!!!!!!
My goodness I’d spend days in it once content starting compiling.
Hey Pat got a serious question. Is there a way that all categories could be seen on one page kind of like it is now except you click on the categories you want to see on the main page and ignore the ones you don't.
This thing is four hours old after two years in the making and people have enhancement requests already.
Will we never find contentment?
Bou you're not good at Math are you? It started Monday it is now Wednesday. That is not 4 hours. Let hear about your wolf hunt.
Thought of a couple more that happens almost daily over on the LeatherWall:
SWAP and TRADE
and another that is going on Bowsite right:
KNIVES and BLADES
Personally I’d like to see fishing stay on the main site especially fly fishing which pairs with bow hunting as much as anything. Maybe not in the east but most certainly for western bow hunting.
Also, wild game cooking and recipes should stay in the main page as well, imo
Butchering, meat preparation, cooking, cooking and more cooking... love a dedicated recipe category.

itshot's Link
here's a link to an older recipe page, still around just gotta dig for it...looks like it could be updated and added somewhere
Fishing sounds good. What about a sexy huntress forum instead of just posting on the funnies? I don’t think we’ll get any complaints.
Thanks Greg, good start. scentman
Yes the hunting dog category would be good.
How about a diy butchering tips and tricks. I know I have learned a great deal over the years doing it myself. I’m sure there are many who would like to share.
"sexy huntress" made me think of "Hunts4Elk".. don't think she ever got an elk but she was nice. A few old timers might remember her?
If the intention is to keep the main forum focused on bow hunting then we’re going to need a general taxidermy and game room category(s).
funny how the people that whined incessantly about having no interest in non hunting threads on the general bowhuning forum are already whining over here.
better call whine-one-one...we need a waaambulance.
How about tips on customizing hunting gear.
