Which high end pack company has the best warranty? If you have had to use it….. what was your experience?
Banlands' warranty was pretty good, and you get to use it frequently.....my expierience anyway and that was 15 years ago.
My friend has a badlands. Nice pack, and it's been sent in for zipper repair a few times.
Warranties are great, packs that don’t break are better! I have packs from eberlestock and mystery ranch. I have put them through a lot of hard use and never needed a warranty!
Badlands Goes Through zippers like Bowtech used To go through limbs
I second the vote for Eberlestock. I usually get a new pack every year and sell the old one. Never needed any repair work and packed a lot of heavy loads of meat.
Kifaru. Don’t know about there warranty. Never had to use it. My tactical frame has packed over 20 whitetails and 1 bear. Without a buckle loosening. My lite frame has packed a dozen or so animals. Without a hiccup. These were heavy loads for miles per animal. Gear and whole deer. Just the cape and skull on the bear.
Great packs and a great company to deal with. But, have no personal experience with their warranty.
Seek outside is great pack too if you can get by the owners brash liberal politics. Something I was unaware when I bought it. No idea on warranty with them. The frame is as good as they get. The bags and workmanship is as well. It’s the pesky fact of being a deplorable human being in Kevin’s eyes that I can’t get by. It’s for sale cheap. ??
Kelty.......not sure if you consider them high end or not. I sold them for years and rarely ever had a warranty issue when dealing with them.
Thanks for reminding me. I just emailed Badlands. I've got a 2200. gotta be 15 years old. Couple broken buckles and I slam the waist buckle in the truck door the other day and broke it. Just emailed them for parts, first time I've had to. I'm sure it will go as smooth as everyone says. Something about that pack I like and keep grabbing it, It has hauled several elk, perfect for a treestand and climbing sticks. A little heavy but have several packs unless doing overnights I grab this one.
I don’t know what Stone Glaciers warranty says on paper, but I do know if you have a problem with any of their gear, they will do whatever they can to make it right.
I’ve only used a Barney’s Freighter Frame or Kifaru packs for the last decade. Never had to use a warranty on any of them. I did load the kifaru heavy enough once to snap one of the plastic buckles on the load lifter straps coming out on a solo sheep hunt. No need for a warranty call though as they sent the pack with extra buckles just in case.
Thanks for all the responses.
Please chime in if you have had any warranty work done.
Bought one of the original Kuiu carbon frames. One of the bottom struts broke a couple years ago. They replaced the frame with the newer style but old bag does not easily fit so I purchased a new one. I thought it was fair.
I managed to break an older Kuiu frame by throwing it (and myself) down a mountainside while loaded with 90-100 pounds of elk meat. It seems one of the barrel rolls into and over a tree trunk was a bit much for it to take. This pack had already packed out over 20 elk and countless other loads for several years. Kuiu replaced the frame without hesitation, even when I told them what I did to break it. Above and beyond service, in my book. Bill
Another Kifaru user here. I have 5 packs from them and none have needed any warranty work done. I am pretty sure my duplex frame will carry more than I will and I have had over 150 lbs on it.
But knowing Aaron a little, I don’t think you would need to worry if you did need to submit a warranty claim.
Just like the Nightforce ad says. The best warranty does you zero good miles deep in the backcountry.
If just doing day hunts or hiking, any affordable pack will work.
My badlands went in twice for wear and tear repairs Its really old but still serves me well. But there are so many newer better inovations out there , EXO is a great pack small USA company , will be my next pack if I survive long enough to need one. You cant go wrong with all of the recommendations on this thread
I know that Eberlestock is considered a heavy pack, but my F1 mainframe is pretty much bombproof. Never had any issues with a eberlestock that I had to use the warranty.
I’m not going to put them on blast but I have asked about this because I have what I would consider a relatively benign issue with my pack and the manufacturer tells me they either won’t or can’t repair. That is the reason that I ask if anyone has ever had warranty work. I will say the pack has been great but this interaction with the company has left a bad taste in my mouth. So much so that I’ll be using a different backpack on my next western hunt. It begs the question about what a lifetime warranty covers…..
Oh come on man, name names!

I figure I get about 10 yrs out of a pack due to meat packing and wear and tear. The blood even after scrubbing with Oxyclean eventually takes its toll on fabric and stitching.
The Zips in my EXO have been great.
I am throwing EXO in the mix also. Great pack and I broke a zipper and they fixed it for free. Read again I broke the zipper it did not fail.
Didn’t read everything but no issues whatsoever with my mystery ranch
Exo Mountain Gear has pretty good customer service.
Badlands has a rock solid warranty. You don’t even have to be the original purchaser or register the product. My first 2200 went through a few zippers. But it was my fault. Overloading it like a stuffed sausage. I packed a lot of elk with it and eventually ripped out the bottom of the aluminum stay pockets. I sent it in and one week, I had a brand new one on my porch. They said the one I sent them was pretty impressive and they decided I deserved a new one.
My brother & nephew both have Exo packs, and no issues so far. What’s impressive to me is how well thought out the packs are; I have an older Osprey Atmos 65L - no complaints with materials or workmanship, but when you’re backpacking in and using it as a daypack, it just cannot be compacted to an appropriate size for what you really need to be carrying, which makes following game trails a bit of a nuisance…
Been running my Kuiu for well over a decade just haven't had an issue.
I have used an outdoorsman pack with the atlas trainer fir the past 8 years to keep wear and tear off my stone glacier when not hunting. I noticed some stitching pulling out on the hip belt and messaged them about repairs. Said it was cover under the lifetime warranty and to send it in and they will fix it up. Good company that stands behind there products
I have a 20+ year old Badlands. Had a couple zippers break and some zipper pulls break. Sent it in to Badlands two months ago and it came back fully repaired, in about two weeks.
