Many are aware of the mountain lion hunting ban going to ballot this fall. Some may have seen adds in regard to this on local Colorado TV. I'm not sure if the public is aware of the impacts this may have on elk, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and other critters in Colorado. I thought I would toss out the invitation for anyone in the Denver area to attend the following rally.

I'm not in Colorado, but I've sent money. The ballot box is no way to manage wildlife.

So that first poster states, “Leave wildlife management to the professionals”. Wasn’t it the “professionals”, and not a ballot measure, that got the wolves from OR?

Pirogue, the wolves are a result of the last ballot initiative. Common sense lost by less than 1% that go around.

I read in NV mnt lions kill more sheep than anything else. I think I also read another state had the same info.

Probably because horses and burros are just too big for the cats to kill reliably…..

So the Horse & Cat lovers are cooperating to ensure the demise of the Native Sheep.

Lovely.

Desert sheep in New Mexico were listed as endangered until the NMG@F started offering more lion tags in those regions. Shortly after the lion hunts were started desert sheep were de-listed. That is solid evidence that wild sheep are negatively impacted by non-managed lion populations. Ask the anti's if they would like well managed lion populations like they currently are in Colorado and elsewhere where they are currently hunted, or if they would prefer wild sheep herds to disappear across the Western US!

Colorado started by getting rid of the hound hunting ..they’re the lowest on the poll..next is the cat hunters.. who will it be next ?? Elk? Deer ? They will keep picking from the bottom rung until they get to the top…may take yrs but it’s coming .
