Just throwing this out there. I have a friend who wants to take his son on a quality archery elk hunt next fall. He doesn’t have any points to speak of. He’d like to hunt mature bulls and would spend the money for the right hunt. Would like to stay away from wilderness hunts and prefer private land. Any and all suggestions and advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance. JD

Landowner tags are a good (but pricey) option. If it was up to me I'd give New Mexico a good look.

I would call GT Nunn with Frontier Outfitters in New Mexico.

Likely already full for next year, but look at Mangas especially if cost isn't an issue as it's a guaranteed tag if you go the landowner route and not crazy overpriced for the tag.

I met the Gilla Apache Outfitters this year while helping a friend with his Gilla elk hunt. They would be a great choice. I also have bet Todd Black several times on the San Juan unit in Utah. If I had the money, I would go with either of those for a archery elk hunt.
