I got served an ad on FB for an “outlet sale” without prices up to 80% off, and tried to order some pants…

I got to payment, and that failed twice. Third time it looked like it had gone through, but on the page there appeared a warning message in red.:

“There order is high risk!”

And that’s verbatim. Seems an odd place for an error like that.

Anyone else seen this?

I haven't seen the ad on FB myself, but unless the link to you directly to their website, it's for sure a scam.

I'm always suspicious of FB ads. If a sale is legit, you can always go directly to the website instead of going through the link.

Yeah, looks like the bank was already on it… It’s a very elaborate set-up, packaged to look like a shop being run via FB.

So, sorry, guys, no 80% off deals…

Go to the 'outlet' page on their website for 'legitimate' prices etc.

(And remember the old saying that 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably ain't.)

Yeah. Coolers seem to be an item too. lol

Saw the same for Muck boots, definite scam

Yeah, I should definitely know better, but I underestimated how easy it has become to create a mock eComm site. Building a functional site used to be a full-time job for a whole crew of people, and required an enormous up-front investment in software…

I say yes cause those prices are just to low. Go to their website and look.

Scam for sure. I had a similar issue on Mossy Oak store last year. Disputed payment with my credit card company and was successful. They are very common unfortunately

Kuiu just had a huge sale for weeks. Some of the stuff is still on sale.

11-Nov-24
They still have some deals on the Outlet, but there are no pants for $35.

If I was gullible enough to fall for that I would not share it with the World Wide Web.

Well, we can’t all be as prideful and self-righteous as you…

11-Nov-24
Kuiu has a sale going on right now. If you are looking for hunting pants the guide pant is pretty dang good. The axis is even better. Buy through their website. They are a direct to consumer seller. There won’t be another retail site with their merchandise.

Only self righteous to you and a 2-3 others. Y'all earned it ;)

Well, one of us was willing to humble up and admit an error in judgement in hopes of helping others avoid making the same mistake, and the other said he would never do so.

So there’s that, anyway….

They have some good deals in the outlet, but a good rule of thumb, dont buy off face book (or socials in general). If there is a good "sale" on the company's social media page, log out, go directly to their site, and order there.

My wife got fooled via an add on a municipal parking page one time - literally 30 seconds after she "paid" for parking, her cc texted a question "was this purchase you?" she called the card (via the number on the card) and the scam site had tried to charge her 10K!!! Nuts.

Be neurotic when buying stuff online. Lots of spoofed / fake / tricky sites designed to make you think you are on the site you want to be...
