I know that PY measures to the 1/8”. Not being a measurer, can one of you tell me if a measurement falls a little more than an 1/8 and hits the 1/16”….is it recorded as the next higher or lower 1/8 measurement?

Charlie even if it just a tad over the 1/8 does it round up or only if it beyond half way to next 1/8, if that makes since?

“Unless it’s a bear or cat”. In that case it’s a 1/32” or above.

JohnMC:
No, only if it clearly reaches the next 1/16" can it round up to the next 1/8". For skulls (Bears/cats) it must reach the next 32nd to round up to the next 1/16'. Hope that makes sense.

Hmmm, until now hadn't realized bear and cat skulls were measured to the 16th of an inch... Thanks for sharing...

Now that I know it can be rounded up to the next 1/8 of an inch I am going home and brag to wife it is a 1/8" longer!

To be a legally countable point it has to be (1) at least 1” in length, (2) at least 1” from the tip, at that place it has to be longer than it is wide. Therefore, if a point is only 1”, it has to actually reach the 1” mark…….no roundup to reach the minimum 1”.
