My jetboil will not let fuel out. I checked the "O" ring that seals the canister to the stove and it is loose. I cannot push it back in place. It seems stiff - never looked at it before so not sure how soft it should be.

This jetboil is aprox. 15 years old and I cannot find replacement rings anywhere yet. I als cannot find a maintenance kit for sale that would include this ring. Ideas?

Any good hardware store should have a selection where you will find one that works. Had a similar situation with a new sunflower heater. When it was 20 below the rubber was so hard I couldn’t tighten it down enough to depress the pin.

I was thinking about doing exactly that, not sure if there are certain rubbers etc but I can cut it and get it out and find a similar size/thickness. Not sure about how hard or soft but doubt I will have that option. Plus it will be 20x cheaper:)

Have you called jetboil and asked them for suggestions? I know no one needs to tell you but it would really suck to find out the ring is wrong size or could not tolerate the temperature when you have got a fire going in a tent or starting a forest fire.

DANAC that is great info! I will call jetboil too, good idea. I suspect they will just want to sell me theirs for $10 plus S&H.
