I have tremors from Parkinson's disease that are bad enough I can no longer free hand my 10x42's. I am considering image stabilized binoculars but have no experience with them nor know anyone who does. guess my question is, are the IS binocs a waste of money or do they work?

I do not own any (yet) but been very impressed with the Sig with stabilization I’ve looked through. I bet they are just the ticket for you.

I'm borrowing some from a friend to test Sig 16x. They work incredibly well, handheld is nearly as stable as on a tripod. I was also pleasantly surprised how well they work to cancel wind shake, which would be very similar to your tremors.
For your condition I'd highly recommend. The only downside is the actual glass quality is not on par with my Maven or Swaro. I find myself constantly trying to fine-tune the focus, and never seems to be quite perfect.
I have not tested any other brands, but I'm leaning toward getting some in the future, just want to compare options as I feel the Sig are not "perfect" for me.

My dad just picked up a pair of 16x Zulu pros. He can't say enough good about them.

Summer of 23’ I tried the Sig Zulu in 12x. Immediately sold a pair of Swaros and bought the Sigs. They’re amazing….only falling short in dawn or dusk light transmission. If they fix that there will not be anything that compares. 1 handed and seems like they’re on a tripod. Actually also bought the image stabilized rangefinder from them and that’s a treasure. Pull up, range something decent and if you’re like most of us you need something to help steady the rangefinder. Great products

I really like the zulus. 2 things I noticed- they are finicky on distance your eyes are from them and the distance between eyes too. Other then that, I love em. The glass isn't as good as Swarovski but the IS is incredible and makes up with it.

APauls posted a mini review of one set on another thread. It wasn't dedicated to the binos, but it was a pretty sterling review.

I’m more impressed at this point that my brother (apauls) hasn’t posted about his Sigs yet. That’s all he talks about these days! He loves them

Thanks for the input guys. I wanted 10x42's but couldn't find them in Sig so I ordered the Canon's. Supposed to be here early next week. I'm a little bit concerned about optic quality but if I can eliminate some of the shakiness I'll settle for a bit of a dropoff.

My wife has had two sets of Canon binos. The first set had image stabilization. Second set has image stabilization and digital stabilization. She is looking for something with even better stabilization and better glass. She uses them multiple times every day. Hopefully we will learn enough here about what she should try. Thanks and best wishes.
