Yard Hopper Season 14 to start shortly. Just got word from Nate that, mother, dad and new baby are dong fine and that I can come over a set up any time now. Will do in a few days as the weather will warm up some. Geese are in the area. The big lake across the Hwy is frozen except for two places where the geese have kept it open Down the Hwy, 1/3 mile is a pond with aerators to keep two spots open and there are 60 plus geese there. Will not know how this will turn out until I put in some time in the blind. A few pictures from last year.
Keep turned in. Paul and Teal.

Set the blind up today and piled up the decoys under cover for a Friday hunt. Goose movement has changed over the last few year but I have until Feb to give it a good try. Big lake across the Hwy is frozen solid and that changes the flight patters of the local geese. Finger crossed for the first Yard Hopper hunt, Season 14 on Friday.

All geared up for the morning. Well this hunt almost will not happen tomorrow or for the next week. Why you ask? I dried fired my compound and snapped the main string. Neven in the years I have shot a compound have I done that. Luckily, I kept my old string and the local shop was able to restring and re-sight. Good to go with a bag of treats. :) Not expecting much but a good scouting day to take the local goose's temperature and to see what is what. My best, Paul

Never hurts to keep the old string for just such an emergency. Bet that made you jump a bit! Maybe Mr Fox or Mr Muley will be hanging around and can provide you with a little goose intel...Good Luck Paul and Teal.
