I'm with you on this, I get flies and ladybugs. I have no idea where they come from. Windows and doors are sealed. Before I leave, I always open up every window and spray around the entire frame with Spectracide and yet they still get in. I am forever vacuuming up thousands of dead lady ladybugs and hundreds of dead flies. there is no food left in the fridge or cupboards, so I am lost as to what attracts them, other than it's a bit warmer than outside.

We would get flies in our cabin starting in October. They never landed on food. They were there to hibernate for the winter. They looked just like a housefly on steroids. Two years ago I watched a youtube video of a poison sprayed on the outside wood and on the ceiling inside the house. I would do it in September. Never had flies again. I got the poison at ace hardware and mixed it up in a sprayer. No smell at all. Dries clean and kills for three months. I will try to find the name of the poison. I believe it was called Reclaim I/T. I think its may be called Supreme I/T now. Worked fantastic. The flies were a variety of cluster flies. Before spraying there would be 100 sitting in each window. I covered every spot outside that I thought they were getting in. Stuff worked great.

nchunter, I think what you are using is called Home Defense. Most hardware chains, Home Depot etc carry it. My son has a cabin that two years ago was infested with 1000s of those lady bugs. This fall, I sprayed that cabin with Home Defense. There was just a few lady bugs that got in to his cabin this last fall. I sprayed it very liberally all over the outside of his cabin.

Plant peppermint and lavender around cabinet plus there detour mice , voles and other critters. When you spray mix peppermint oil in also no more mise also. Quick way to kill flys in your home , a bowl suger/water 50.50 mix and a drop of dawn dish soap. Don't stir.

I had a couple hundred yellow hornets get in my Oklahoma cabin last year. I’m going to spray foam under every rib on that tin roof so they can’t get in.

A thick syrup mix of 3 parts sugar and 1 part borax works fantastic on ants. I put it in bottle caps, let it dry to a sticky glaze and leave them where I've seen ants around my place and inside corners. I'm told it will destroy roaches too.
I've also had good results with the UV lamps, mine are rechargeable and solar, which requires daily attendance to setting.
Carpenter bees are detered by citrus, I wish it would kill them. I'm tempted to buy a salt gun and get'm one by one.

I leave those yellow bug "vapo strips" hanging in the cabin year round. They even take care of spiders.

Fly "tape" works great but you have to hang it in the center of the room. Cheap and easy and works while you are gone. I do not know chemicals that will work a week later, maybe a poison if it exists.

Get a Konk dispenser and you're golden. That stuff is awesome. Kills everything and food safe. Won't be a single living fly or moth guaranteed. It just shoots a small spritz every 10 mins or so and lasts a super long time. Grew up with one at home in the porch and one in the house. Never a living thing.

We use a product called Talstar. I use 1 oz per gal in a backpack sprayer. If it flies it dies with this product. It is kid and pet safe after it dries. I start at the perimeter of the house/building and continue around the windows and nooks and crannies. It knocks down spiders, flies, ladybugs, mosquitoes, you name it. I have attached a link to the place we get Talstar.
