Wow helluva battle I doubt the young one survived but I can assure you that rat snake is hurting.Anything that can crack a walnut with its teeth has a helluva bite. We were checking traps a few years back and had a squirrel in one that was caught on the back legs.My buddy wearing pretty thick boots put his foot down too close to the squirrel and that squirrel bit down on his foot and he let out a few cuss words.His toes and part of his foot turned black and blue.Lewis
