See this a lot at this stack of old antlers, sometimes they carry them around the yard. Since a lot of the nourishment for antler development comes from bone marrow it has to be replaced (calcium) I have often wondered if a guy left all the small antlers on the ground, would it eventually help wildlife in general but antler development in particular. Does chew on this stack as well as the bucks. Any nutritional biologists care to enlighten me?........Mike

Mike, that right antler is cool with the corkscrew on it.

I've seen squirrels drag a shed antler up into a tree to chew on it. We had a horse that would like blood off a dead deer on the tailgate and eat the ducks out of the bed. But never seen a deer chew on an antler! Thats cool!

That pic was Dec 31, '24. His grandfather was maybe Mister Twister from 2015. He was killed by a pellet gun a couple of years later along with 4 others. I helped make sure 2 people that had shot deer with pellet guns ended up with $820 fines. But the pellets that killed the deer had rifling and did not match all the dead deer. These pics are of Mr Twister eating out of the same antler pile. And NO I'm not putting anything in the antlers to make them grow weird. Ever since then we have had a "Mr Twister" around town in some form or another. I have many pics of all the Mr Twisters.......Mike

Wow, that's crazy those antlers are genetic, would not have thought that...

Dang, what size pellet gun kills deer? I know some of those Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifles of 30 caliber or more can kill big game but wouldn't think a regular .17 or .22 pup up pellet gun could unless extremely close and shot in the eye or head? Gotta be a story behind that?
