Well, this is interesting.
Very interesting development.
Is it possible? We could have TWO states with musk ox hunts available?!!!

"People want change ... We want more business to finance our welfare,"
I guess you can read that more than one way.
Shouldn't this be on non-typical forum?
Commander-In-Chief Didn’t get the memo!
I wonder if they’ll change their stance on using expandables on musk ox as well as traditional bows, now…….Back on topic…

“ An opinion poll indicated that 85% of Greenlanders do not wish their Arctic island - a semi-autonomous Danish territory - to become a part of the United States, with nearly half saying they see interest by U.S. President Donald Trump as a threat.”
Trumper Fake News LMAO. That’s basically what this site has become.
Greenlanders are idiots if they think a massive arctic island in a strategic location, with important natural resources and populated by only 55,000 people can become an independent self-ruled entity. Without US protection the new population will be speaking Russian after the old population is removed. The Danes can't protect it, the Europeans can't protect it. Only the US can protect it, just like Canada.
I don't condone the US grabbing either but the actual reality is that Greenland, Canada and Europe cannot defend themselves from Russia and exist as free entities only because they are protected by the US. They have had lots of meetings and made lots of speeches but have made no real steps to actually improve their military capabilities. Russia has 30,000 troops literally maimed or killed every single month in Ukraine but Europe says they can't even send a total of 30,000 troops there to live as peace keeping troops after a cease fire. That says it all.
Greenland can vote for, and announce their independence but they won't be independent for long. They currently have a choice as to who they want to be a part of, but choosing independence is choosing conquest by Russia.
There is an over abundance of Musk ox in Greenland!
I know when I hunted with Karsten a few years ago he said there is a meat market and He and his son shoot 30-40 musk ox every year themselves to process and sell the meat.
Not many predators where the musk ox are thriving
And…. There’s a direct flight out of Newark!!!
Aspen Ghost, lots of truth in what you wrote, but keep in mind two things, 30000 Soldiers is not the solution and the problem will be that most if not any of their origin country’s are NATO members, so Putin won’t accept it. Another thing will be that a combat approved Russian soldier will give a shit , if some random blue helmet or what so ever will ask him to leave .But who knows anyhow about NATO‘s future
Bad thing if part of US they will want to transplant wolves, and Musk will probably be given dictatorship
Stix x2. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to the Musk-Ox population if the immense mineral extraction/mining projects are followed through. I don’t think the acquisition would be beneficial for the musk-ox population or for the preservation of natural resources as a whole. Greenland might be nothing but mineral mines and military airstrips by the time it’s over with, sadly.
"Well, this is interesting."
Very.
The size of Greenland is absolutely mind boggling. I don’t know where the minerals are in relation to the eastern and northern musk ox there but one would think that the two could coincide. How many times could Texas fit into Greenland? 60? 70? That landmass is huge
After yesterday's election in Greenland, looks like it will have to be a hostile takeover.
"How many times could Texas fit into Greenland? 60? 70?"
I'm thinking more like 6 or 7 probably.
Greenland is roughly 3.1x the size of Texas. The farther a landmass is from the equator, the larger it appears on a map. This larger-than-reality distortion of northern landmasses is called a Mercator projection. Greenland is 836k square miles and Texas is 268k square miles. Alaska is 665k for comparison, so Greenland is roughly 1.25 Alaska’s.
There's another option to simply taking over a country because you apparently need it for defences and minerals. You can actually work with them together to achieve both your goals lol.
The "we need to take them over to control that area" rhetoric essentially doesn't stop until you run the whole world.
Ah didn’t realize maps distort things that way. Thanks for the clarification!
