North Carolina Traditional Archery RENDEZVOUS
Where: April 18, 19 & 20 , 2014
A just-for-fun, non-competitive archery weekend! (We’ll still give you a scorecard if you want the bragging rights!)
Where: NCTAR is held on the shores of W. Kerr Scott Reservoir near Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Three, wooded 3-D target ranges (Eastern, Western, and Exotic targets). Forty targets total.
Vendors, food, raffle, Coon Shoot, Aerials and other Novelty Shoots, plus Children’s event too.
Beautiful, shady campgrounds on lake with showers, flush toilets, and electrical hookups.
Hotels and restaurants in nearby Wilkesboro.

We have spoken to the Ranger in charge of the camping and listed below is the availability of campsites at Kerr Scott. Please reserve early. Also some tent locations will allow a small pop up camper, be sure to ask. Tents are also allowed on any RV site. Reservations: 1-877-444-6777. Bandits Roost 14 RV Sites 9 Tent only sites Warrior Creek 23 RV sites 6 tent sites (available in February) Group site A which will handle approximately 50 people Fort Hamby 23 RV sites Group Area 17 tent sites
CTA has negotiated special motel rates in N. Wilkesboro, NC for NCTAR attendees. Please note the cut off date for the special rates.
Motel Rates: Red Carpet Inn: 44.62 per night Addison Inn: 64.99 per night Holiday Inn Express: 89.99 per night Hampton Inn: 99.00 per night Mention North Carolina Traditional Archery Rendezvous when making reservations. We are offering a 10 target Coon Shoot both Friday and Saturday night. Also our 10 target Tough Man range will be open all 3 days during regular range hours.
Come listen to, and talk with, one of the most personable, and funny bow hunters of our generation. Monty Browning will be sharing his adventures of moose hunting solo in Alaska. See the beauty of the wilderness as he shares with us his personal slides and photos. Sit on the edge of your seat as he explains how he survived a nearly life ending tragedy of a raft accident. Laugh, as Monty spins his stories as only he can. Hear part one on Friday evening and stay for Saturday evenings finishing tales. Hope to see all of you there, as Monty has expressed his heart felt desire to come home to his CTA.
NCTAR KIDS EVENTS
We have several special events lined up for our kids this year. Along with the regular shooting activities (3D target range, novelties, and crafts), we will have an Easter Egg Hunt for the younger kids on Saturday afternoon. A Smores & Campfire Ghost Stories will take place Saturday night.
The Boomer Volunteer Fire Department will be preparing sandwiches and providing snacks and drinks throughout the weekend. In addition, Wilkesboro has every restaurant imaginable less than 10 minutes from the event site. A shortcut to Hwy. 421 and restaurant row is located on our event map.
