Bill, congrats on an amazing tag. I drew a Colorado bighorn sheep tag two years ago in Colorado. It was the best but also by far the hardest hunt I have ever been on. I unfortunately didn't get my sheep, but to say I went after them with a bow and came close just fueled the fire to get one later down the road. Practice shooting far, I was dialed in and hitting a pie sized plate out to 100 yards. Looking back on my hunt, there was a time when I had a great 170 class ram at 70 yards but it was only day three of the hunt and I thought I would have a better opportunity. That opportunity never came. The only other advise I can give you is get in the best shape of your life. I was hunting at 12,000 feet, not sure where you will be hunting but for us NJ hunters, the lack of oxygen is a killer. Best of luck! Im jealous.

What luck to draw that tag, and I cherish the oppertunity. I'm going for the last 2 wks of the season which is the end of Oct. If I can get a respectable ram in MY range, I don't foresee me passing on the shot.
Been focusing on getting in shape, been walking, leg excersizes and doing alot on the bike for now.
Don't know if I'll get out to 100 yds or not. Should be able to get my limit out to 60. We'll see how that goes.
My outfitter think the sheep should be between 8500 and 10500 late in the season. We'll see how that goes and go up to the sheep if we have to.

bow hunting lic. permit season by zone. buck tag. and if you have to pay a club fee..
I wonder what my kids will have to pay when there my age, 300$ for one deer?

Since r-man brought that up, when can you start buying those fall bow permits? I bought my lic in late Dec, I don't think I bought any permits with it.
