I lived in Nebraska all my life until 9 years ago when my wife wanted to be nearer to the grandkids. I used to hunt the grasslands a lot but I've heard the ehd really hurt the population. I'm looking at coming up this year and hunting again so I was wondering if anyone had any first hand info from last year and what it looks like currently. Thanks!

You are refering to the Ogllala GRasslands? I know in parts of the snadhills (eastern) where I hunt the population took a hit, but seems to be rebounding a little.

There are some deer north of crawford if that's the area your talking about. I wouldn't focus on whitetails up there. However there are some muleys around. Now if you get by the timber to the south there are deer. I do think some of the whitetails were lost though to EHD. EHD doesnt affect muleys like whitetails but from 2 years ago till last year we didn't see as many whitetails.
