Well I guess I get to start this year. Finally after trying to get a velvet buck for many years I got one. I guess my son is up and I'll get to go fishing.

Well my trail cameras are not getting many pics but I got 3 of this guy and another couple of nice bucks. My pics were always in the middle of the night. I hunted my tree stand and saw a doe. The next eve I tried again and he walked in with another buck before dark and I got the shot. I found no blood and no arrow and me and my son searched for hours. I went back to my stand and grabbed my trail cam card and went home to see what it picked up if anything. I couldn't believe my eyes when the camera snapped a pic right before my arrow hit. I knew he was hit good now and we found him first thing in the morning and we had walked 10 yards past him the night before but my arrow went through the high lung and through the deer and the exit was blocked not allowing any blood out. He only went about 100 to 120 yards but was in high grass and thick brush so we couldn't see him at night but found him in 5 mins first thing in the morning. Very happy that I got him I have tried for a velvet buck for 20 yrs and had some close calls but this time I got the shot.

We tagged out opening day, this hunt was my son's and hunting partners first archery elk.n
Bull was called in using combination bull / cow calls ... 34 yard shot.

Shot this guy yesterday 7am! He came in down wind of me with a tiny bachelor group. I spotted him in a tiny opening through some bush and spotted his G2's and part of his frame and knew where he was going to walk. He came in picture perfect and gave me a 17 yard broadside shot, and the rage took care of the rest.

Got my moose this year. Turtle Mtns after 1.5 days of hunting. Super lucky I think considering the moose population down there. He came in to 10 yards and I stuck one in him, he ran out to about 18 yards and stopped so I stuck another one in him. He then ran about 35 yards in a semicircle and I stuck him with a 3rd arrow. Total time for all three shots was about 20-30 seconds or so I'm thinking. My motto is keep shooting until they are down.....these are big animals. The first one would have done the trick but I felt better with the insurance shots! He's not a huge moose but I hunt moose and elk for the meat. Any bull with a bow is a trophy to me. ;)

While we approached our 2014 archery deer hunt in Manitoba with some trepidation hearing all the negative reports we had a great hunt.
Deer numbers were very low for the most part but we still saw a number in certain of our favorite spots.
In the end we went two for three.
Here is a picture of our best as my hunting partner "Lucksucker" again used my luck and guiding expertise to perfection.

Sat Nov. 8 was magical. Thought I heard something and I was right! I turn around and look behind my stand just in time to catch a ruffie sneaking through. Switched arrows and smoked him!! Chicken for dinner baby! Good thing I bought that $15 chicken license lol. This grouse is only like $5/lb.

Got my buck on nov.12 after a 2 day rifle hunt. Came out of the bush with about 10 does but was more interested in the 2-3 does feeding behind me. The decision of walking passed me to check the does worked out great for me. First 5x5
