Place to Mule deer hunt near Portland?

I'm looking into starting to scout an area out for deer hunting in the fall.

I'm living in Milwaukee, OR currently. Where would be the best place to start my scouting?

I make all my own bows and arrows and will be using them this year!

Any information would be appreciated!

I work out in Sandy pretty often.

There is no Mule deer hunting available to you for an evening hunt after work. But for a weekend or weekend with a Labor Day hunt, you can get in all of north central Oregon. You can take off after work on Friday and be good to go early Saturday morning. You can return fairly late after the weekend to maximize your hunting time. Making your own bows and living in the valley do not discount the Blacktail deer as a great and challenging adversary.

Swede is correct. The closest mule deer area is a ways away and would probably be in The Hood River area.
