rifle hunt

So....my father moved to willow springs missouri about 1.5 year ago and so far he has taken some deer on his property( small 15 acre parcel) and has been bugging me to come down to hunt so next week a friend and myself are headed that way for week of rifle hunting. I am normally 95% bow hunter but we choose to go with rifles as we don't know the area well and figure I will be able to check/cover more ground rifle hunting and maybe bow hunt it next year. We will leave here weds night and have a day to scout .We will be hunting the mark Twain national forests in the willow springs . Anyone have a idea of what to expect? Hunting pressure? Quality of bucks? Deer numbers? My dad sees alot of deer on his and his neighbors property but he hasn't ventured out in to the national forest yet.... No going expecting alot ....
