I have heard that the winter was pretty mild in some places in Montana. Has anyone been seeing any bears out yet?

Its been snowing every damn day around Bozeman lately. Cant really get anywhere the bears are yet. Hopefully soon.

Grizzlies are out along the Front -- sows and boars. Havent seen any black bears or heard about them being out, but I bet they are.

Seen a blackie today, but it was a long way out there and couldn't see how big it was. A guy at work says he seen a sow grizz and a cub last week too. So their out and about.

IT's time, blacks were active this weekend. One quick evening hunt I saw one no time to get in bow range though. I did a quick check for cubs then was planning my stalk when he took off. The guy parked across the road saw one. My students at school reported one kill and a couple of sightings.

666 bears killed in the NW region in 2015, confirms my suspicion that I am seeing more bears the last couple of years. Populations must be up.

Population seems to be way up for us in Big Sky. Maybe coincidence but haven't seen a grizzly around our house in several years and saw two different sows with cubs in one day. Total of 5 bears.

every reporting agency is saying snowpack is below normal, but I don't see it, seems like a ton of snow this year. could be one of those years we are lucky to see bears before the end of season. I'm with you dan they will roll over and call it good.
