how many hunters used a ground blind or tree stand for elk and what do you think of them

Floyd, I have a couple of portable pop up blinds and have sat at on site constructed ones. I use a lot more tree stands. Only in very rare situations where no good tree is available, do I prefer the ground blind for elk. For other critters there are places tree stands are not an option, or may not provide a great advantage. Every type of ground blind I know of has its problems. Tree stands can have their limitations too, but given a choice, I prefer to go up high to wait for elk.

I have used tree stands with good success when used over water hole/wallows.
