The Fire in 5BS

I'm headed to 5BS for the youth elk hunt. Two daughters. Two tags. Stoked! I heard that there was a big fire in the area. Can anybody let me know what portion of the unit was burnt out?

I just spent 12 days elk hunting right in the middle of the burn. It didn't affect the elk at all. I was into them all the time.

Pretty much north of the 211 rd, west of 82, east of HWY 3 got burned to one degree or another. The area around Turkey Mt. caught it pretty good but there was a lot of elk there. Don't know how far north it got.

That's a great reply. Thank you. Now, I don't need to stress. I happen to love that area. Did you whack a bull? I had that archery tag two years ago, and passed up too many keepers, and ate my tag. But, it was a great hunt.

Your hunt sounds like mine. I don't regret coming home empty. It was my choice.

Lots of green in the burn areas. It did a lot of good getting the undergrowth out in some places.
