Deer tag in a new unit. Nothing else. Might have to nut up for a Colorado hunt if I want to hunt elk this year.

Son and his buddies all drew youth Sandia, wife muzzle elk, and me and wife rifle deer. All 3rd choices, cant believe no bow deer or elk again. My mobility impaired buddy that I get to tag along with drew deer and elk. Go figure. I at least get to watch. LOL Good luck everyone.

Cantgetdrawn: Congrats I specifically remember you not drawing last year and glad you got your Elk tag. 20 yrs not drawing is nuts and you deserve it. This is obviously your year and watch your gonna put a monster down. Good luck and let us know how you do.

First choice for elk so I get to go "up the hill" to help take out a cow elk. First cow I get a chance at and then the rest of September chasing deer.

I drew 21 deer but the rest was a litter of red...my daughter drew the youth ES elk tag in 34, youth antelope in the NE part of the state in October and off range oryxes in February, super excited to take her on 3 hunts this year!!!

Congrats everyone, I was somewhat lucky as well, 2 out of 7 tags, I drew a 1st hunt Gila elk and an easy to draw deer tag.

24 coues and off range oryx in July. No idea where to go, but it'll be Archery. Probably sit water holes?

Chasing oryx in NM w/ a bow, this should be interesting. At least you have a month to get it done. Ya gotta find a waterhole before you can sit it, those things can go for a long time without watering.

Yeah and that's the monsoon season so it might not be that great of a tactic in July. Lots of puddles everywhere. If I don't bag one with my bow it's not a wasted OIL hunt so I got that going for me lol.

I drew a deer and barbary sheep hunt....Pretty happy to see that much green for a change....3 years in a row to draw a deer tag, still havnt drawn an elk tag, been since 2008 , but I also missed putting in for elk 2 years in between.....Im pretty happy to say the least....Cantgetdrawn , you havent drawn a tag in 20 years?

Flyfishfreak: I had actually gone 16 years without drawing an elk tag. I loved unit 36. To be fair I hunted deer most of those years. It had been 20 years since I got my 1st choice archery tag. Lately I have gotten 3 elk tags in 4 years .

cantgetdrawn , glad to hear it....I too have hunted elk since 2008 as I have family with land owner tags and am blessed to get a cow tag every few years , but Im on a elk tag drought right now,but also I put in for VV & now 6B , but cannot complain as Ive drawn deer 3 years in a row , 2B twice.....

Having not drawn a tag last year for anything and having to live vicariously through all of you guys hunt I wanted to bring this thread back up to hopefully enjoy hearing some of yalls success stories or the one that got away. I see some awesome hunts draw on here so how did the hunts go?????
