Spring Black Bear Activity

So I'm headed back to Montana for our spring bear hunt. I see you are having a wet spring in many parts of the state. Any activity reports would be greatly appreciated.

I have not seen any yet. Little bit of sign but no yogis spotted. Two friends have seen grizzly out and about just no blackies yet! SW MT.

hiked 6 miles sunday and didn't spot any. grrrr. NW MT.

My boys and I were out shed hunting in the Bitterroot last weekend and my son jumped a big black bear in a grown over clear cut pretty early in the afternoon. He couldn't tell if it was bedded or feeding around. Blew out like a freight train and made him think he'd found sasquatch:)
